Background

DJ Min One learned how to mix from various local DJ’s in San Francisco, California from 1991-1993.  He soon started publicly DJing in San Francisco in 1993 under the name “DJ Min.”  In 1994, after achieving his certificate of completion in the Broadcasting Department at City College of San Francisco, he moved back to his native born home of Honolulu, Hawaii where he began DJing on college radio (KTUH FM) and at various venues for all ages around the island. 

In 1997 he moved to Brooklyn, New York where he furthered his broadcast career at both HOT 97 & KISS FM where he produced for celebrity radio personalities Funk Master Flex, Isaac Hayes, and DJ Mister Cee.  In 1998 he was hired as an on-air mixer for mix-master weekends and fill in DJ shifts on KISS FM where he DJ’ed amongst legendary DJ’s Chuck Chillout, Grand Master Flash, Kool DJ Red Alert, and DJ Darryl James.  He has also since founded his own record label in 2004,“DJ MIN ONE PRESENTS,” specializing in re-mixes of popular songs for both Club and Radio DJ use.  One of his most popular was the Alicia Keys Reggae Remix of “You Don’t Know My Name,” which was picked up by VP records and released on the 2004 Reggae Gold Compilation.  He now currently resides in New Jersey as an independent DJ/Producer with world re-known status.
